Printer Setup
Connecting the printer, adjusting dip switches and game settings
- Using the provided harness, splice in the red wire to a 12V supply wire and the black to a ground wire.
- Using the provided harness again, splice the yellow wire (for pulse communication) to the wire from pin 23 (often red with black stripe).
- For serial communication, connect the RJ45 connector from your RS-232 cable (sold separately) into the RJ45 port on the back of the printer. Connect the DB-9 connector into the appropriate communication port on the game board. This will vary by game and manufacturer.
- For pulse communication, DIP #1 should be in the ON position. All other DIPs OFF.
- For serial communication, DIPs #1 and #3 (and in some cases #4 as well) should be in the ON position. DIP #2 OFF.
- On your game board, navigate to the system or device terminal page of your settings. For pulse communication, select either 'pulse' or 'nothing' from the devices list. In some cases you may need to enable a pulse option from the menu.
- For serial communication, select your printer model from the devices list.
- If 'test communication' is an option on the devices page, press it now.
- Test the printer by redeeming points from the machine.
